Network Security Camera

A network security camera is going to connect to one of your existing computer networks in your home. Networks are simply a grouping of multiple computers that are linked together along with each camera that is hooked up within a network that has its own unique IP address. IP addresses are a unique way to identify your network, almost like a social security number is to us.

When you use a network security camera you will be able to view all of your information over the Internet through a remote location and all through the use of a web browser that is graphics capable, such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox. You are simply going to type the IP address into your web browser and as long as you have protection already set up on your computer you will be prompted for a password. Then you will be able to view all of your security cameras. You do not have to have a computer at your location because the security cameras are actually a self contained web server.

There is going to be some variation in the rate of speed at which you will be able to view your images. It is all going to boil down to the speed that you currently have from your Internet provider, as well as a couple other factors. High speed Internet connections are ideal for this type of security camera. On average you are going to get about 30 frames per second in live motion video, while you have a screen resolution of 640 x 480. There is also the ability to be able to view multiple cameras all on one single viewing screen. You will also be able to view your network camera on a cell phone or a handheld computer, as long as the device is capable of connecting to the Internet.

There are a lot of variants within the different network security cameras, including vandal resistant, daytime and nighttime cameras, and the pan, tilt and zoom cameras. The day and night cameras, also referred to as the night vision cameras, are able to capture the images in color during the day, but at night they are in black and white. When you have a camera with the pan, tilt and zoom capabilities you are going to be able to control everything around your camera remotely. This will give you the added bonus of being able to maneuver the camera to a position that is going to be ideal for all of your needs and viewing ranges.

Wireless network cameras are of the other variants in cameras, which are going to give you the ability to operate them without having to use any network cables. You can also enhance your security system through the use of encryption, so you will never have to worry about someone accessing your network illegally. There is nothing more important than your personal security and now with the network security cameras you can have everything that you have ever wanted in your new security system.
